I have attended many peace rallies. This was the angriest crowd I've ever seen. About 250 protestors rallied in front of the Minneapolis office of Sen. Amy Klobuchar to protest the May 30 attack on the Free Gaza Flotilla in international waters off the coast of Gaza. Sixteen peace activists were reported killed with more than 50 wounded. The flotilla was flying Irish, Turkish and Greek flags.
A group of about 30 barged into Amy's office where they were met by John Kavanagh, state director. He listened to a number of angry pleas for senatorial action. The group was also upset with the knee-jerk US action in blocking UN action and in quietly acquiescing to the high seas piracy and resulting deaths and injury.
