While we get quite exercised about these developments, the general populace does not seem to care.  Does that mean Pawlenty is that good at messaging?  We are that bad?  We cannot ignore that the folks who really seem to care are those on this message board, plus their families and friends.  At some point we need to look in the mirror and assess why we are failing at persuading the larger public to see it our way.

According to this Gallup poll, the majority (60%) of Americans think that upper-income people are not paying their fair share of taxes.

This poll doesn't tell us how MUCH they care about it, however, and if, let's say, they're not going to vote for Emmer because of their opinion on that particular topic.

voted against it. They have chosen to LEGITIMIZE the memes of the right-wing rather than deal with the problems our state faces. This is why the Republicans are better than us: they are UNITED while we have 28 people that buy into and legitimize the Republican ideology. This bill is pretty much a Repulican bill (very "cut heavy") with the exception of the modest tax increase. Given the way the Republicans are preening, you would think that T-Paw has 90+% approval ratings and THEY had a veto proof majority in the senate and a few votes short of one in the house. Oh well, I guess the new GOP governor might be a nicer guy to deal with and actually smile while he tramples over us.
