SD26 Special: how crazy is the Republican candidate?

by: Joe Bodell

Wed Dec 30, 2009 at 17:34:14 PM CST

The local Republican Party has endorsed a guy named Mike Parry for the special election in SD26 to replace resigning Sen. Dick Day.

And boy does this guy have some interesting opinions on his twitter feed...

Only those serving overseas can vote absebtee!

Really? That's funny, I'm pretty sure the law says otherwise.
read the exclusive on Mr O in Newsweek. He is a Power Hungry Arrogant Black Man
Wow. It doesn't get much more blatant than that.

Let's be real.We need to clean house and set term likits!
As I noted on Twitter earlier today -- paging Gil Gutknecht....former GOP Congressman Gil Gutknecht rolled into Congress in 1994 as part of the "Contract on America" class, promising to serve a maximum of 6 terms...and then he ran for reelection in 2006. Huh.

maybe its time for local govts to stop spending?
I wonder how the Waseca Fire and Police departments feel about this statement. Public works? Parks?

Meeting with Sen Dick Day this morning for breakfast. Should be very interesting meeting. More to come on that later.
This last piece is kind of interesting -- what did Mike Parry know about Dick Day's impending move to RacinoNow! and when did he know it? April? Based on this tweet, who knows?

Don't worry, if these tweets happen to disappear suddenly, we already have screen captures. But the bottom line is that this guy appears to be a dyed-in-the-wool Tea Partier, more concerned with having a black president than with actually solving the real issues facing Minnesota.

I wonder what the MNGOP thinks (0.00 / 0)
Based on their leaders tweets recently they seem to be very upset by a lack of local government spending in Minneapolis.

Absentee Voting (4.00 / 1)
Joe, my oldest son is in Germany. He's not in the military. He does absentee voting all the time.

Don't cook your own goose.

ignorance about absentee voting (0.00 / 0)
Such gross ignorance about absentee voting is probably a lot more common than we realize. That would explain part of why Republicans think somehow the senate race was stolen. They really don't know how voting works.
