- On Wednesday, the 16th, MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be the featured speaker at a Republican event in New Hampshire, which I will discuss in more detail as the big day nears. This is regarded as significant because of New Hampshire's importance in presidential primaries, especially as he hit Iowa back on November 7. By all accounts, his Iowa speech was pretty generic play-to-the-base stuff, heavy on Obama-bashing. As if, intellectually, Guv. Bridge Collapse belongs in the same room with President...plenty of time for that later.
I'm a fan of ideas like revamping the primary system to something like four 'superprimaries,' regional or with the states for each selected on some other basis to be roughly equivalent in total population. The four primaries would rotate in order, so everybody gets a chance to be first every now and then. But that sure won't happen in time for this election.
- The Cucking Stool has a great post on the efforts of TPaw and his allies to wreck government in Minnesota. Similar to what I was trying to get at last week, but more succinct and effective. |
