"I'm DFL. And that's the line that I'll be on."

Actually, the whole quote is:

"I would not run on the IP line. I'm DFL. And that's the line that I'll be on."

And the person making the quote is Dr. Maureen Reed,  the congressional candidate in the 6th CD.

The quote was made to Eric Black at MinnPost.

Personally, I'm happy to see Dr. Reed make that quote;  make the committment to the DFL Party and make the committment to helping Michelle Bachmann return to the profession Bachmann was trained in: tax law.  Dr. Reed is a fine person and a wonderful candidate.  She should be congratulated for standing up and standing tall!

Disappointing (0.00 / 0)
Personally I'm disappointed.  Dr. Reed was an excellent candidate for Lt. Governor and she's an excellent candidate for the U.S. House.  But we make no progress when when support and perpetuate the dysfunctional two party system.  We need people who are committed long-term to building a third party that addresses real solutions to issues.

Work for Instant Runoff Voting so that your vote always counts and the effect of voting for a third candidate will no longer be effectively a vote the candidate that you least like. And certainly with 11 candidates in the DFL governor's field, there certainly is choice! I wholely support the DFL and work from within the party because it best represents working for the common good.

How is this a commitment to the DFL? (0.00 / 0)
I'm not sure where you get that Reed is committing to the DFL by saying she'll be on the DFL line. She never did answer Black's question about whether she would honor the DFL endorsement, she just repeatedly stated she would be the nominee and that's that. Her responses on abortion and health care were even less clear. I have no problem with a good healthy endorsement battle, but let's at least have some clear answers if you are going to be a candidate. Reed was anything but clear in this interview, and it shows in Black's frustration on the audio.
