Just Last Sunday

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, just 4 days ago, a lot of DFLers took the time to help Paul Thissen celebrate the opening of his campaign office. And I mean " a lot."  I was surprised by the turnout.  Some of them are already confirmed and dedicated Thissen supporters, such as the couple that made the trip down from Duluth.  Others were curious about Paul, and what they told me is that they are finding out that Paul Thissen is a serious guy running a serious campaign.  One of my questions was how a metro area DFLer would do in Greater Minnesota; I was told a YouTube addressing that very issue would be posted on Team Thissen's website.  Since it now is, let's take a look!

With yesterday's "developments", the race is wide open.  Running hard is Paul Thissen. Team Thissen is a team to watch.

Thissen = Walz of 2010? (0.00 / 0)
Of all the campaigns I've been watching, the Thissen campaign continues to impress.  He presents a earnest and thoughtful leadership that has proved to be a winning combination in this state.  Lots of parallels with our rockstar congressman from the 1st.

Paul is good but not great... (0.00 / 0)
I think MN needs a candidate that has a plan to give ALL Minnesotans HEALTH CARE. Especially after Tim Pawlenty's devastating cuts. We cannot put this off anymore thats why I strongly support JOHN MARTY for GOVERNOR 2010! He offers the bold progressive vision that MN needs!

Please cite for claim of "all" (0.00 / 0)
Your claim would have more impact if you cited where Thissen does not do "all".

Thissen is a solid choice (0.00 / 0)
I have a lot of respect for Paul Thissen and would consider casting my vote for him as governor.  I know right now I would never vote for John Marty.  I consider Marty's positions too simplistic and unachievable, while I believe Thissen offers a lot of substance and depth.  While I don't presume to speak for all swing voters, I do represent the kind of voter a winning candidate needs to attract. If you're serious about victory in the fall, I would suggest giving Thissen serious consideration.  He is the fresh, serious candidate that would serve Minnesota well.

We always blow it (0.00 / 0)
We always blow it by nominating the wrong guy.  For once we have the chance at the right guy with Thissen.  We can't follow the same logic or use the same model that we have used during the endorsement process for past nominations.  It is quite clear, to me at least, that Marty would be nothing more than a repeat of a mistake.  Ideologues have never fared well in Minnesota.  The past two election cycles should have taught us a lesson.  We need pragmatists in order to prevent the loss of votes to the IP.  No one would argue that the past two IP candidates are anything but liberals.  If we are going to win, we need to steal the pragmatist card from the IP.
