(St Paul will be in an election year in 2009 that determines the heroes and the villains from RNC - promoted by Grace Kelly)
As the many tentacles of the disgraceful Bush empire pass into infamy, the evil elves are scurrying to destroy environmental protection, to enact nation destructive policies that will be hard to reverse. They do anything that can keep us aimed for the dark ages.
The ever present right wing blower charged up again to stir up the hate and fog the truth, both stratagems essential to the right's actions. The local fascist newsletter, the Strib, featured not one but two major articles in Monday's paper about SS General Bob Fletcher and his relentless campaign to destroy the anarchists. It seems that even after a federal cash infusion of some $50 million and his successful infiltration program, there are still anarchists roaming free. We should all be terrified of these anarchists doing whatever it is they do and not yet being drawn and quartered. |
| Not reported in the Strib was the effort in St. Paul to recall City Council member Dave Thune. He has sinned by defending free speech and the right to assembly. He has this silly belief in the Constitution. He had the temerity to sponsor a public hearing to listen to and see the video evidence of "Cops Gone Wild," during the RNC. How dare the world be exposed to images of cops clubbing young people with the cop's bicycle, batons, steel toed boots, rubber bullets, tear gas and who knows what other weapons. Medics giving aid to the beaten citizens were targeted and dragged off in chains. Journalists were clubbed and locked up. The documentary, "Terrorizing Dissent," shows in excruciatingly painful detail how far our country has plummeted. Thousands of cases of totally uncalled for police brutality will be forever ignored. I defy anyone to watch 15 minutes or more of this journalistic work and not be thoroughly ashamed of what we allowed to happen. This documentary is an example of what journalism can be, reporting the truth, not just the pre-pickled talking points.
Councilman Thune was brave enough to permit some glimpses of the truth, a high crime against the Right, so he must be eliminated. As I understand it, any resident of St. Paul can sign the petition for a special election to remove him. We'll see if St. Paul residents have any spine left and dare to stand up to the sheriff and his blackshirts. Is our freedom worth protecting? I personally feel that a special election is desirable, an election to recall Mayor "Appropriate Force" Coleman, Sheriff Fletcher, the City attorney and all those that cooperated with this shameful event.
In related events, the Defense Department quietly created the Northern Command in October 2002. This command includes the US and the approaches to it. Today the Northern Command deployed some 20,000 troops in the US to "Protect the Homeland." The 130 year old Posse Comitatus Act is another quaint artifact that should be ignored. Before the 2001 hysteria this action would have been unconscionable.
The term Homeland Security has an interesting provenance. Homeland was not part of our vernacular until 2001. It was part of the Nazi vocabulary, the German word, Heimatland, was used by the Nazis to refer to the more common word "Vaterland" ("Fatherland"). Interesting that this usage was introduced at the same time the 1933 German "Enabling Act" was translated into English to be the Patriot Act.
Eternal Vigilance is indeed the price of freedom. |
