Republican legislators just can't seem to focus on creating any jobs. If they're not getting sidetracked passing ballot measures to enshrine their far right agenda into our constitution, they're introducing their extreme right wing pet projects as bills. Despite the certainty that Gov. Mark Dayton will undoubtedly veto their insanity.
The latest incredibly bad solution to a non-existent problem was introduced by Senators David Hann (R-Eden Prairie), Gretchen Hoffman (R-Vergas), Dan Hall (R-Burnsville) and Mike Jungbauer (R-East Bethel).
In a further attempt to turn back the calendar to the 1950's, four Minnesota Senate Republicans introduced a bill to require a two-year waiting period for divorces if the couple has minor children.
This would be the longest divorce waiting period in the country. By the way, Nevada, with the nation's highest divorce rate has one of the longest waiting periods for divorce. Minnesota has a low divorce rate, with no waiting period for divorce.
(Cucking Stool)
I can think of two reasons that these four Republican Geniuses introduced this bill:
- Create jobs (for whom ... attorneys?)
- Protect marriage from those evil gays.
The stupid it hurts and only Gov. Dayton can stop them. |
