Let loose with your wackiest predictions for the redistricting maps (in the next 80 minutes, because at that point we're actually going to get a look).

This one's for you, O'Shea

I'm just gonna call Coon Rapids being put back in the 6th, and the 3rd taking in Chanhassen and most of Carver County.

Also think there's a good shot the 4th loses its Dakota County turf for compactness reasons.

Also, look for potential Asian-American Plurality district to be made in St Paul, which could shake things up. Along same lines, SD58 will expand to take in Cedar-Riverside area to comply with VRA.

Also predict that CD1 continues to run the whole southern border, and CD7 takes in a bunch of Stearns instead of going all the way to Iowa.

We'll see how wrong I am in 75 minutes!

Franken vs. Thissen (0.00 / 0)
I'm dreading my Rep., Frank Hornstein, getting redistricted with Paul Thissen.

I predict that (0.00 / 0)
there will be eight congressional districts, 67 Senate districts, and 134 House districts.

I predict... (0.00 / 0)
...that the redrawn map makes Bachmann's re-election prospects easier, not harder.

But I know nothing. I'm basing my prediction on what Minnesota Progressive Project have said about the maps submitted by the two major parties.

And I'm basing my prediction on the fact that Bachmann sent out a fundraising email to everyone on her list--prior to the release of the maps. This email suggested that redistricting was going to make her re-election prospects tougher.

So I think--based on the above--that the re-districting will make her re-election prospects easier.
